If you are thinking about purchasing a gooseneck lamp, you should not have any trouble doing so. They are commonly available in most appliance stores, and the smaller gooseneck desk lamp style can even be found in many stationary shops and other larger convenience stores.  You can also order them online, if that is easier for you although you do not have the advantage of being able to check out the actual lamp yourself and make sure that it is exactly what you are looking for.

When it comes to designer lamps, however, or even a specific style of gooseneck floor lamps, you may find it easier to search online and see what styles are available.

Unfortunately, from reviews shared, it seems that while it is very mobile, the light it gives off is not really that great to read under unless it is shining directly on the text you are reading. This may not always be practical, however.  On the plus side, it is a great lamp to use when the electricity is out–you will still be able to read even at night, with or without electricity. It is also handy in that you can take it anywhere with you, and read. You could even take it outside at night and read if you so desired, as it is entirely battery operated.

On the high end of the spectrum, an Edward Alden gooseneck desk lamp could set you back a tidy $479!  Less expensive designer lamps are also available for around $200.  A very nice Tiffany gooseneck table lamp is only $207 and it really would be a fantastic addition to any room. It is their ‘rosebush’ lamp, and the base and gooseneck is designed to closely resemble a rose branch, with the lampshade decorated with a floral design.

As you can see, there is a huge variety of different gooseneck lamp options when it comes to buying online, with prices ranging from extremely cheap to ridiculously expensive.  One thing when buying a lamp online, is that you do need to factor in that the more fragile lamps can sometimes become damaged during transit. If you are going to shop for a lamp online, check out the customer reviews and make sure you buy from a supplier who has a good track record when it comes to shipping gooseneck lamps.
